Preliminary Concepts
Please scroll down to review the preliminary concepts before taking the survey.
We are pleased to share the preliminary concepts for Red’s Farm Preserve. These initial designs are based on community feedback gathered during the first public meeting on December 16 and through the first community survey, which was open December-January.

This is an important next step in the visioning process, where together we explore how the guiding principles—created by the community—translate into real features and spaces at the Preserve.

The two preliminary concepts (shared below) intentionally present different approaches to achieving the community’s goals. Using your feedback—supplied in the Concept Survey—we will merge these two concepts into a single plan that incorporates the ideas and priorities that you share with us. That updated draft plan will be available for review and comment at our next public meeting on April 22, 2026.
After reviewing the two plans below, please complete the Concept Survey. In this survey, you’ll be able to tell us which elements of each concept you prefer. You do not have to choose just one plan — you can pick the features you like from both. We encourage you to share comments - explain what you like and let us know if anything is missing.

Guiding Principles for Red's Farm Preserve

Ecological Stewardship – All physical improvements should protect and sustain natural habitats whenever possible. When disturbances are unavoidable, the restoration of ecological function and enhancement of biodiversity should be prioritized.

Community-Centered Design – Ensure that park improvements support community well-being by creating welcoming, flexible spaces for learning, gathering, and community resilience.

Advance regenerative practices – Ensure that the Preserve continues to support regenerative gardening and farming with facilities that promote active practice, hands-on learning, and demonstration.

Equitable Access and Use – Expand access to the Preserve’s unique opportunities—gardening, learning, and gathering—so these activities are inclusive of people with diverse abilities, ages, and backgrounds.
